We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead our game development team from concept to launch. This role requires a unique blend of project management skills, technical knowledge, and gaming industry experience. As the bridge between Clients and technical teams, you will ensure the requirement gathering from the Clients and provides realistic timeline, & make sure our games are delivered on time, within scope, and meet our high standards for quality and player experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination Collaborate with game designers, developers, artists, and other stakeholders to create comprehensive project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocations. Ensure all teams are aligned on project goals, milestones, and deliverables through regular updates and clear communication channels.
- Client Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear, regular communication on project progress, key milestones, and any issues that may arise. Facilitate client feedback sessions to ensure their vision and goals are accurately reflected in the project requirements and progress. Manage client expectations, providing transparency around timelines, deliverables, and any changes to the project scope or schedule.
- Requirement Gathering Engage with stakeholders (game designers, developers, marketing, etc.) to collect and document detailed project requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the game’s vision, objectives, and technical needs. Define the project’s scope and objectives, identifying key features, gameplay mechanics, and any technical constraints. Translate stakeholder input into clear, actionable requirements and ensure they are aligned with the project’s overall goals.
- Team Management Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and positive environment to meet project objectives. Conduct regular stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to keep teams engaged and on track with agile practices.
- Technical Oversight Work closely with the engineering team to understand technical requirements, constraints, and dependencies, and to make informed decisions on feasibility and risk. Monitor the implementation of technical solutions, ensuring the code base and architecture align with the project’s needs and future scalability.
- Risk and Issue Management Identify and proactively manage risks, removing obstacles that could impede project progress or compromise quality. Escalate issues when necessary and collaborate with leads to devise action plans to mitigate them.
- Scheduling and Resource Management Maintain and adjust project schedules, balancing resources across projects to meet deadlines and quality goals. Coordinate with HR and other departments to ensure the availability of necessary team members and equipment.
- Stakeholder Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for project updates, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and adjustments. Prepare detailed reports, demos, and presentations to communicate the project’s status, metrics, and achievements.
- Quality Assurance and Release Management Oversee QA efforts to ensure the final product meets our standards for quality and player satisfaction. Coordinate release planning and deployment, ensuring a smooth launch and timely patches or updates post-launch.
Requirements:
- Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Project Management, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in technical project management within the gaming industry, or a similar digital/technical environment.
- Skills Project Management: Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies; experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, and Trello). Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of game development workflows, Development in Unity or Unreal Engine experience is a plus. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and levels. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot, think critically, and make sound decisions under pressure. Leadership: Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
