The tasks you'll perform Assist with process design including, development of mass and energy balances, process flow diagram, datasheets, P&IDs, design criteria, control philosophy, functional specification and operating costs and specific client process engineering requests. Conduct the process components of scoping and pre-feasibility studies, under supervision. Assist with metallurgical testwork programmes. Assist with commissioning activities. Interpret metallurgical testwork. Preparation of process components of study documents. The expertise you'll bring Tertiary level education in Mechanical Engineering. At least 2 years' proven industry experience, preferably in a minerals processing or project delivery environment. South African Citizen or Permanent Resident. Cape Town based. Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables, within budget and schedule constraints. Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Demonstrate ability to and/or proficiency in the use of specific proprietary software packages relevant to the Engineering discipline; specifically for scheduling and cost control. Demonstrate knowledge of contract standards and a sound background in contract administration duties. Technical background with a broad multi-disciplinary base, preferably in minerals processing plants / infrastructure construction. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a team and knowledge sharing environment.
