Murex Front Office Knowledge SME and training Champion Company: Elenjical Solutions Location: Remote (Must be able to work within European and South African time zones) Role Overview: Elenjical Solutions is looking for an experienced internal Murex Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor to support the growth and development of our junior analysts stationed on client sites across EMEA. This non-client-facing, remote role will be pivotal in ensuring our team members have the knowledge, guidance, and resources to succeed in Murex. The selected SME will be part of a collaborative environment supported by a network of other experienced SMEs within Elenjical Solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Mentorship and Development : Mentor selected junior team members, providing guidance on technical and functional challenges. Foster a learning environment, encouraging growth and development of Murex knowledge.
- Help Desk Support : Respond to help desk queries from junior team members, offering solutions and troubleshooting support. This includes leveraging expertise to address complex challenges while empowering juniors to improve their problem-solving skills.
- Training Content Creation and Delivery : Develop comprehensive training materials, design training courses, and conduct sessions to upskill analysts in specific Murex functionalities and capital markets processes.
- Knowledge Documentation : Identify and document existing knowledge gaps within the team. Develop and maintain a knowledge base of Murex content tailored to support analysts across asset classes.
- Subject Matter Expertise : Offer expert guidance on two key Murex streams (preferably Front Office and Market Risk) and demonstrate advanced knowledge in multiple asset classes. Provide insights into best practices for configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Cross-functional collaboration : Collaborate with project leads and stakeholders to ensure training aligns with client expectations and project requirements.
- Effective Communication : Deliver information in a clear, structured manner suitable for junior team members. Maintain strong time management and multitasking abilities to manage ongoing mentoring and content creation activities effectively.
- Context Switching and Multi-Tasking : Balance various responsibilities by smoothly switching between mentorship, answering help desk queries, and content development.
- Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience with Murex, particularly in Front Office and Market Risk. Proven experience across multiple asset classes (e.g., Fixed Income, Equities, FX, Commodities).
- Proficiency in key Murex areas including static data setup, curves , structuring , simulations , live book , RBPL , e-trade pad configuration, pre-trade development, and P&L attribution , reporting , Market risk configuration (stress testing , VAR , taylor , FRTB , SIMM) .
- Expertise in simulation/live book views, functional requirement gathering, and functional support for Front Office and Middle Office end-users.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Financial Risk Management, or Financial Engineering.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, CQF, PRM) are advantageous.
- Strong solution design and implementation skills tailored to internal training needs.
- Ability to mentor and coach junior team members, with a focus on clear communication, knowledge transfer, and adaptation to different learning needs.
- High proficiency in English (C2 level), with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and empathetically with junior analysts and team members.
- Available to work within European and South African time zones to align with team needs and support.
