Fire Captain
Job details
The Fire Captain assumes responsibility of station resources for the operational period until relieved. Manages routine duties as measures of preparedness, as well as, responds to and recovers from emergencies. Coordinates emergency response with other functions within IMI as well as external entities as applicable. Primary AccountabilitiesResponds to emergency calls of all levels and takes command to resolve situations while maintaining highest priorities of personnel's and equipment safety.Supervises and coordinates shift operations in-line with department's policies, procedures, and strategies, ensuring safe and efficient daily operations.Management of up to 12 personnel overall through division of labor and within the span of control ranges.Maintains a good physical performance standing in accordance with the department's fitness & medical protocols.Performs various administrative tasks as directed by Fire Chief.Develops pre-incident plans and promotes familiarization to emergency response membersWho we are looking forEducationDiploma degree or equivalent.Fire Protection Engineering with 9+ years of experience in fire operations.Professional Qualifications(Certifications & Accreditations)Meets certification requirements of Deputy Fire Chief I as per the followingNFPA 1005 Land-Based Marine FirefightingNFPA 472 Hazmat OperationsNFPA 1006 Confined Space I&IINFPA 1002 Pump OperatorNFPA 1002 Aerial ApparatusEmergency Medical ResponderIncident Command System (ICS) 300 & 400Other relevant certifications will be considered.Effective fireground leadershipAbility to transform strategies into actionable daily tasks.Ability to remain calm during stressful situationsSkilled in performing critical risk vs. benefit analyses.Ability to conduct risk assessment and mitigation measures.Ability to develop Incident Action Plans (IAP) to resolve incidents.Knowledge of incident management methodologies.LanguagesAbout Application ProcessIf you meet the criteria and you are enthusiastic about the role, we would welcome yourapplication.Tocomplete the application you would need the following document(s):
