They specialise in freight forwarding and are committed to providing seamless and efficient logistics solutions to our clients. As they embark on an ambitious growth journey across Europe, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced GM to lead their Amsterdam office and drive their expansion efforts.Job Overview: The GM will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Amsterdam branch, managing a team of three, and spearheading our efforts to scale up their presence across Europe. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the air freight industry, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing and growing logistics operations.Key Responsibilities:Operational Management:Oversee daily operations of the Amsterdam branch to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.Manage and mentor a team of three, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.Implement and maintain operational procedures to meet company standards and client expectations.Business Development:Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and expand the company's market share in Europe.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies and campaigns to attract new clients.Financial Management:Prepare and manage the branch budget, ensuring financial targets are met.Monitor and analyze financial performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.Optimize cost-efficiency and profitability of branch operations.Compliance and Quality Assurance:Ensure all operations comply with local and international regulations and standards.Maintain high levels of quality assurance and customer satisfaction.Handle any escalations or issues promptly and professionally.Strategic Planning:Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's strategic goals for the European market.Provide insights and recommendations based on market trends and competitor analysis.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.Qualifications+5 years of experience in air freight+2-3 year of experience in leading staffCurrent position could be a team leader, operations manager or already experienced branch managerCandidate must be motivated and ambitious to grow the companyCarrier RelationshipsAccess to potential ClientsNetwork of potential new staff (1-2 employees)Cargowise knowledge is a plus
