Chief Financial Officer (Based in Bundaberg). East Coast HR Group.
Brisbane QLD. Financial Managers & Controllers (Accounting). Full
time. $140,000 per year (negotiable).

ABOUT THE POSITION The Chief Financial Officer(CFO) has primary
responsibility for the planning, implementation, and management of all
the finance activities of the organisation, including business
planning, budgeting, forecasting and compliance with all statutory
obligations. The CFO ensures the provision of effective fiscal
management services, including financial forecasting, management of
financial risks, accurate record-keeping, and financial reporting, to
the organisation in line with Regional Housing policy, contemporary
financial management principles, Australian accounting standards and
relevant operational and funding guidelines. It also provides expert
financial advice to the CEO and the Board of Directors. The position
contributes significantly to the achievement of the organization’s
strategic goals and strategies and is a key player in the effective
management of external relationships. The position, where required in
the absence of the Financial Controller also provides supervision and
guidance for staff in the Finance team.
The position will build and sustain relationships with a network of
key people internally and externally, to the benefit of business and
service development, and communicate the strategic direction into
operational goals whilst creating a shared sense of purpose within the
organisation.
The position also performs other functions related to the office of
CFO or as may be reasonably requested by the CEO or Board.
Selection Criteria Demonstrated extensive experience in financial and
budget management, financial modelling and an ability to support the
preparation of funding proposals and contribute to the creation of new
venture and developmental projects.
Excellent leadership ability, people management, time management and
organisational skills, particularly in a social housing environment,
including demonstrated compassionate and empathetic people skills and
a commitment to Customer service. Excellent communication,
relationship building, negotiation and networking skills combined with
significant ability to develop sound working partnerships with key
stakeholders. Experience in the preparation and implementation of
strategic and operational planning and business reporting as well as
the preparation of proposals for government and other funding bodies
including the Governing Board or Management Committee.
Confident and experienced in the use of desktop productivity tools and
systems including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Outlook/Express, A
working knowledge of the statutory requirements of the sector
including relevant Acts of Parliament and other guidelines and
standards and thorough knowledge of contemporary financial management
practice and the requirements of public funding. Previous experience
or exposure to large scale financial modelling for growth including
property development and large scale projects highly regarded.
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Employment Checks: Successful
pass achieved on Pre-Employment validation and assessment including
but not limited to Police Check, employment history and background
check, qualifications, and skills validation. Successful pass achieved
on Queensland’s Working with Children Check - Positive Notice Blue
Card issued by BlueCard Services. Tertiary qualifications in
Accounting or Finance. Professional qualifications in Accounting (CPA
or CA). Current Queensland Drivers Licence. Successful pass achieved
on Queensland’s Disability Worker Screening Clearance Card.
