Responsibilities Diagnose vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections. Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. Conduct pre-inspection and post-repair tests to ensure vehicle functionality and safety. Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols at all times. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair needs and offering solutions. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work completed on each vehicle. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in automotive repair preferred. ASE certification is a plus but not required. Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic. Strong understanding of automotive systems and technology. Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Desired candidate profile As an Automotive Service Technician, essential skills include: Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems. Diagnostic Skills: Ability to diagnose issues accurately using diagnostic tools and equipment. Mechanical Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools for repairs and maintenance. Attention to Detail: Ensuring precision in repairs and following manufacturer specifications to prevent future problems. Problem-Solving Skills: Identifying and resolving issues efficiently, often under time constraints. Customer Service Skills: Communicating effectively with customers to explain repairs, provide recommendations, and address concerns. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for working with vehicles and equipment. Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy parts and working in various positions. Time Management: Managing multiple repairs and maintenance tasks to meet deadlines and customer expectations. Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated on new technologies, tools, and repair techniques in the automotive industry.
