The OpportunityThe Senior / Principal Professional (Defence) role contributes to the winning, management and delivery of moderate to large scale projects, management of the Defence Civil Infrastructure Team and growing the broader Northern Territory business.The successful individual shall be responsible for the management of project resources, budgets and timelines and enhancing client and working relationships through project work. This role will also include supporting the preparation of proposals and presentations to clients to win work.ResponsibilitiesTechnical / Professional Expertise (understanding client needs and delivering accordingly, performing engineering calculations, modelling and design functions...)Financial / Project Management (technical quality, budget and program. Monitor time, cost and quality of work. Reviews and client satisfaction).Business Development and Client Management (key relationship management, proposals/project plans for key opportunities, prepare and manage bids/proposal and marketing materials).Internal Business (Network quickly throughout the global BG&E business to strengthen capability and value for clients.)Leadership (passionate about contributing to the Defence of Australia. Mentor Junior staff and pass on knowledge within own area of expertise. Be confident in your own ideas).Cultural (Demonstrate a personal interest in the development and success of all staff in your project teams, organise group activities, delegate work to develop the skills of your project team, provide recognition for great performers).We would expect your effort to be managed across the following three-time categories in generally:Client Service - Projects (80%-85%)Client Development and Bidding (10%-15%)Our People, Culture and Training (5%-10%)KPI'sCompletion of projects exceeding client expectations (to be determined on Client feedback on projects delivered)Excellent report writing skills (both technical and non-technical).Completion of projects on time, within budget and to a high standardCoaching and mentoring of junior staff, successfully assigning tasks and projects to meet staff personal development and business requirements.Developing existing client relationships as required.About youA Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent)Experience in Civil related design and delivery of land development and building type projects, including multi-disciplinary servicing of developments.Chartered Engineering Professional (preferred) and or RPEQ Certification5+ years Civil Engineering experience delivering civil infrastructure projectsAustralian Citizen or Permanent Resident onlyExperience using a variety of engineering software (12D, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AutoTURN, SIDRA, MUSIC, Excel (advanced), Nasiworks, HY-8...)Desire to support BG&E in its endeavor to support Defence across Australia.About BG&EBG&E is an employee-owned global engineering consultancy with more than half a century of experience.
