What role you will play in the team

ExxonMobil is expanding our manufacturing process control organization and looking for plant information engineers who enjoy working in dynamic, collaborative and diverse global teams to provide support to ExxonMobil manufacturing sites, such as business data workflow, data processing and accessibility. Currently, we have an opportunity for an entry level Manufacturing Digital Solutions Engineer to join our global team. The role is based in Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur.

What you will do

If successful, you will represent the Business Unit in providing effective above-site manufacturing digital and data optimization support. Key deliverables include:
  • Provides L3 and L4 Uniformance operations support to Manufacturing Sites, including ongoing work processes, upgrades and projects for refineries and chemical plants.
  • Optimize Uniformance tool and features for Business teams day to day decision making process.
  • Digitalize Manufacturing environment by working closely with Manufacturing Engineering Division on digital improvement opportunities.
  • Application consultancy and support across a broad portfolio of applications spanning a variety of platforms and technologies at site.
  • Data Visualization - Work with Business Teams across Refinery and Chemical sites to identify and define how data visualization can deliver business value.
  • Partnership with Business and Key Contacts
    • Primary interface for remote engineering support with manufacturing Site Engineers.
    • Define and implement initiatives, upgrades and sustenance.
    • Establish yourself as an extended member of the site Process Control team.
    • Collaborate with Application Engineers to ensure applications utilization are operating at optimum level.
    • Maintain strong working relationship with Manufacturing Control Systems on technology roadmap.
    • Interface with and provides input to Global Network and Supervisor on issues and opportunities.

About you

Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with database management (SQL), Ms.Excel macros and other digital related work deliverables.
  • Be able to demonstrate the following:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers
    • Troubleshooting skills, innovative and analytical thinking
    • Intellectual rigor, strong drive and desire to lead change
    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural global team
    • Understanding of operational aspects such as high availability, monitoring, security, and robustness.
