In this role, you will use your research/agricultural experience to serve as a team member in the Operations team to ensure irrigation and general farming activities take place. </p><p><b> You Will Be Part of Growing Team </b></p><p> Research and Development </p><p><b> Your Challenge: </b></p><ul><li> Responsible to ensure all Greenhouses operate at optimum capacity. </li><li> Management of the plants in greenhouses. </li><li> Management of weed control, disease and pest control, irrigation, fertilization/crop nutrition and sanitization in greenhouses. </li><li> Operate and manage automatic potting equipment and advanced irrigation systems. </li><li> Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the greenhouses. </li><li> Timely ordering of soil, fertilizer, paraffin and keeping greenhouse stock up to date. </li><li> Lead and participate in process improvement and internal research projects. </li><li> Collaborate with global greenhouse teams to implement new and improved processes and ideas. </li><li> Maintain an appropriate log and inventory of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide and supplies for efficient completion of greenhouse activities. </li><li> Provide daily feedback and support to necessary stakeholders. </li><li> Work with Genetically Modified Organisms in accordance with government regulations and internal company policies. </li><li> Scouting and identifying early signs of pests, diseases or any unwanted infestations. </li><li> Will need to work with vendors to order or organize greenhouse needs in a cost-effective manner. </li><li> Will be required to ensure boilers, paraffin pumps, greenhouse structures, water and fertilizer equipment are maintained. </li><li> Will be responsible for the irrigation of the farm – Liners &amp; Pivots. </li><li> Need to be innovative and bring new ideas. </li><li> Will be an owner of the fall protection safety programs to ensure working at heights are done safely and other related safety programs. </li><li> Will be required to do physical lifting and work in varying ergonomic and physical environments, including outdoors and in hot, humid greenhouses. </li><li> Will be required to come in over weekends or after hours if there is a problem. </li></ul><p><b> Key Stakeholders and Interactions: </b></p><p> Serve as a team member in the Centralized Operations. </p><p><b> Location: </b></p><p> Delmas Olifantsfontein Research Farm </p><p>#LI-SD1</p><h3> Qualifications </h3><br><p><b> To Grow What Matters, You Will Need </b></p><ul><li> BSc or B.
