Investment Management Specialist

My client, a Telco company in Qatar, has an Investment Management unit that supports growth and performance, ultimately enhancing returns through monitoring, reporting, and assessing the financial performance of company investments (in operating companies/joint ventures, etc.). This role enables the CFO and the Board to form an accurate financial picture of the performance of those investments.This position supports the function by undertaking monitoring, analytics, and reporting on a specific area of group performance at the OpCo level.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.Accounting qualification (CA, CMA, or similar) is desirable.Minimum of 8 years of experience within a financial investment/analysis environment, with some experience in a similar role.Good understanding of the characteristics of debt and equity is required.Proven application software skills are required (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of MS Access and Project is desirable. Knowledge of basic applied statistics/econometrics would be an advantage.Ability to audit (i.e., review, understand, and repair/redesign) and construct detailed spreadsheet-based financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, and sources & uses of funds/cash flows.Prior telecoms experience is essential, and emerging markets experience is preferred.Prior experience with ERP and reporting systems is highly desirable (Oracle, Cognos, Hyperion, etc.).Prior exposure to North Africa, the Middle East, and/or the Indian subcontinent is desirable but not essential.Basic understanding of GAAP/IFRS, revenue recognition, and other accounting principles and concepts.
