Summary: Provide direct care to adult or pediatric/neonatal patients undergoing procedures that include diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterizations, peripheral interventions, neuro-interventions, electrophysiology procedures including implants and ablations, and interventional radiology procedures. Ensure open and effective channels of communication with patients, family/caregivers and all health care team members involved in the pre/intra/post-care of the patients. Responsibilities: Intervenes in emergency situations when changes in patient condition necessitates.Assists the physician during diagnostic and interventional procedures, including Neuro, EP studies, pacemaker implantation and related procedures in the lab and remotely as indicated.Performs and interprets hemodynamic waveforms. Operates complex physiologic recording computer system including routine programs for diagnostic procedures and special measurement programs for interventional procedures. Maintains storage and retrieval systems for all records.Ability to establish and maintain hemostasis at the arterial access site post procedure and monitor for and respond to evident and occult bleeding complications quickly and appropriately.Prepares surgical trays, instruments, contrast media, room and patient for scheduled procedures.Assess and manage critically ill patients with complex heart disease and other co-morbidities throughout the procedures.Provides constant “policy defined” monitoring of all patients receiving moderate sedation.Provides age developmental appropriate care.Identifies and has extensive knowledge of the application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in all diagnostic and interventional procedures including Cardiac, EP, Interventional Radiology, Neuro, Peripheral Vascular, and Hybrid.Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Cardiac Catheterization or other related procedural areas, one year of critical care experience in a hospital setting preferred. Acute/ Critical RN experience preferred. National Certification in area of clinical specialty (preferred).Additional Education Info: BSN preferred.Additional Credential Info: Active Florida or multi-state RN license, required.
