We require 2 experienced Café Workers for our busy café, Robert Harris, in Ashburton. This is a hands-on position suitable for an energetic, positive, enthusiastic customer-oriented person looking for a challenging and rewarding position in the hospitality industry. You must possess a can-do attitude and the ability to manage a high traffic café. ï· Minimum working hours will be 30 hours per week ï· Pay rate range will be $25.00- $30.00 per week. To be suitable for the role you must: ï· Have 1-2 years or relevant industry experience. ï· be available for weekend work. Business Skills ï· Ensure customers are the focal point of all activity and continually satisfy the customer with superior quality, value and service that supports business growth; ï· Demonstrate and encourage the Guest Service Standards at all times; ï· Identify opportunities to improve business processes, increase customer satisfaction and improve operations. People Skills ï· Build strong relationships with internal and external parties so that individual ideas and common goals can be shared and accomplished; ï· Demonstrate good social skills and the upselling of all food and beverage items. ï· Work in a collaborative team and foster a respectful work environment at all times. Job Duties include: ï· preparing and serving food and beverages for consumption on premises. ï· Complete basic food and beverage preparation and ensure a high standard of quality and presentation; ï· Ensure that all food prepared and served is safe, in line with the Robert Harris Food Safe Plan. ï· Process transactions in line with the Robert Harris Ashburton Cash Handling, Meals & Staff Discount Policy; in the house rules guide. ï· Maintain a clean and well-presented work area at all times by completing cleaning requirements as instructed and reporting maintenance issues in a timely manner. ï· Work in a collaborative team and encourage a positive environment. ï· Clean and prepare tables for customers. ï· Clear away used dishes and cutlery when customers are finished dining. ï· Assist with training of new team members ensuring they are equipped to perform all duties; ï· Adhere to Safety, Environment, Quality & Operational Risk standards and procedures. ï· Ensure hazards, incidents, near misses and workplace injuries are reported to your manager within 24 hours and applicable corrective actions are completed in a timely manner; ï· Assist and support your manager and other team members as required. ï· Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisor/Manager.
