We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.PRIMARY OBJECTIVESOverall supervision of civil/structural engineers and civil/structural designers.Ensure technical competence of civil/structural personnel (Engineers and Designers).Forecast requirements for civil/structural resources and allocate those resources to various projects and work assignments.Ensure compliance with relevant standards, SOW, technical specifications etc., and ensure technical integrity of all work scope within civil/structural department.Identify and maintain civil/structural software and standards necessary to enable the structural groups to function effectively.Interdisciplinary communication development.Civil/structural group communication development.Check, monitor and ensure compliance with QA/safety/environment goals.Manage civil/structural engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule.Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable.Promote cost reduction and productivity-enhancing initiatives.Promote career development within the civil/structural group.Identify and review new technology development, which could be applicable in providing more cost-effective facilities.Technical supervision of project designated civil/structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties.Prepare weekly civil/structural progress and expenditure reports on a project-specific basis.Benchmark civil/structural design/drafting to identify areas of improvement.Quality Assurance - work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.Safety - responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety procedures.Preparation of manpower estimates for various projects and support of proposal development.Input into schedule development for various projects.Originating of documents such as calculations, specifications, scopes of work etc. to facilitate project delivery.Job Specific Knowledge:Thorough knowledge of the applicable engineering design and construction civil/structural codes, standards and best practices for both onshore and offshore.Familiar with international standards such as AISC, API, ASTM, BS, etc.Sound grasp in both onshore and offshore civil and structural analyses.Knowledge of civil/structural detailing and capability to develop construction friendly and economic connection and support details.Experience in life extension assessment projects will be an advantage.Industry Specific Experience:Extensive work experience as a Principal engineer within the Oil & Gas industry.Proven experience of leading a team of civil/structural discipline engineers and designers.Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the civil/structural discipline in the same or similar industry, including experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary projects and teams.IT Skills:User of SACS and MS Office Suite of Software, STAAD Pro and MathCAD.Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage.People Skills:Able to work in diverse team.Builds appropriate, constructive, and effective business relationships throughout the organization.Communicates clearly, accurately, and consistently both verbally and in written matters.Employs the principles of active listening and encourages feedback from others.Other:Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required.Demonstrates enthusiasm, persistence and tenacity.Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.Moving forward togetherWe're committed to building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace where everyone feels they belong, can bring themselves, and are heard.
