We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Digital Solutions Director with an entrepreneurial mindset and substantial experience in technology development and commercial capability. This is a key role on the Lucy Electric Executive Team.The business is global, with key locations in the UK and India. A strong R&D and Product team, alongside acquisitions in data analytics and AI capabilities, provide a strong platform to drive innovation and impact in this space.The Lucy Electric Executive team recognises that networks are likely to become more flexible through digitalisation, enabling data sharing across the energy value chain and increased monitoring. Our products enhance power availability and allow remote control and monitoring; our hardware is automation ready.This role offers significant autonomy to set the roadmap and strategy in Digital Solutions for Lucy Electric. The Digital Solutions Director will be expected to understand current market expectations, research future trends, and translate this into a commercially viable strategy uniting Product, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, and Innovation teams for a coherent vision.Job ContextLucy Electric is part of Lucy Group, the parent company of all Lucy Group companies. This role will be responsible for formulating and delivering this strategy.Job Dimensions• Report directly to the company CEO• Lead Lucy Electric's Digital Solution strategy as part of the Executive Team.• Work with Marketing, Innovation, Product, and Commercial teams to define the commercial positioning and solutions offering for digital solutions.• Collaborate with the Board, CEO, and Engineering Director to develop, deliver, and support world-class digital solutions.Key AccountabilitiesMarket impact and strategic development• The position is critical to the future trajectory of the company, with a dedicated focus on Digital Growth.• Lucy Electric is expanding its digital capabilities and solutions across major markets.• This role will design and develop the business model for Lucy Electric's digital solutions strategy and lead product development discussions.• Responsible for research and development, and the delivery of new products/services associated with the digital solutions strategy.• Deliver significant growth in capabilities, revenues, and margins in digital solutions.• Lead the evolution and delivery of the digital strategy, identifying priorities and opportunities to maximise the digital business opportunity.• Articulate and quantify the commercial proposition and value of digital and automated solutions.• Coordinate with Sales, BD, and Marketing teams to position current Digital solutions effectively.• Guide market-facing resources to analyse market demand and articulate solutions value and growth opportunities.• Work closely with Engineering and Innovation teams regarding solutions specifications and new product developments.Qualifications, Experience & SkillsMinimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:• Significant experience in developing strategic direction in digital, automation, or related sectors across global markets.• Proven experience at a senior and strategic level of product development and delivery.• Experience of delivering considerable revenue and margin growth, particularly in new product lines.• University Education/Postgraduate (Masters Degree) in Electronics, Industrial Automation, or technology development.Job Specific Skills:• Ability to develop and deliver clear commercial customer-centric business strategy, particularly in smart solutions.• Strong leadership skills and experience.• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.• Ability to analyse market trends and articulate clear market-led customer solutions.• Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and headcount management.• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver strong business outcomes.• Excellent communication skills up to board level.• Ability to work with agility and at pace to deliver timely results.• Participate in the development of corporate strategy, applying functional expertise to test the viability of the strategy.• Communicate the Digital function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision, and values.• Identify capabilities needed to meet current and emerging business needs of the Digital area.• Provide authoritative specialist advice to the leadership team to guide policy implementation and project design.• Strong leadership and motivation behaviours.• Strategic Mindset; sees ahead to future possibilities and translates them into breakthrough strategies.• Business Insight; applies knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organisation's goals.• Balances Stakeholders; anticipates and balances the needs of multiple stakeholders.• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.• Excellent attention to detail.• Collaborates; builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others.Does this sound interesting?
