Senior Engineering Manager

We are hiring for a seasoned "hands on" Technology Engineering Leader with 15+ years of experience in driving engineering maturity (practices, quality management, quantitative measurements, tools and productivity enhancers), solution design, performance engineering for highly scalable, business critical platforms and solutions leveraging Java, Open Source, AWS and Oracle stack. Prior experience in Technology and Engineering leadership roles with application development portfolios and programs with a cross geo team of 70+ associates is a must have. Experience in full engineering lifecycle for core and critical financial services solutions is a nice to have.Contribute in presales activities as a technology/ engineering subject matter expert i.e. high level solution definition, sizing and RFI/RFP responsesResponsible for recommending technology stack, helping team in definition of solution, technology and integration architectures for small to mid-sized applications and cloud hosted platformsParticipate in effort estimation using different techniques; will actively support project managers and scrum masters on planning the implementation and will work with test leads on the definition of an appropriate test strategy for the realisation of a quality solutionShould have executed one or more cloud projects end-to-end in the pastHelp teams understand functional and non-functional requirements and translate them to technical specificationsMentor and groom team members to develop a mindset of Test First approach for every Feature and StoryDevelop team members to value the importance of writing clean codeTrain technical leads, developers and automation testers on coding best practices and code refactoringImplement and govern software engineering processes, practices, tools and standards for development teamsEngage with customer on technical discussionsSkills:Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and presentation skills.Strong understanding of SOLID principles, various design and architecture patternsStrong exposure to technology frameworks and micro-services, APIs, REST webservices, leveraging Java and open source technology stack (i.e. Java, Javascript, Node.js/ Angular.js/ React.js, Spring Boot, Non-blocking Java, etc)Strong design, development and performance tuning skills on atleast two or more databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, NOSQL and NewSQL (e.g. PostgresQL, Cassandra, Mongo DB, Cosmos DB, MySQL etc.).Experience of DevOps and automation infrastructure for continuous integration and delivery using tools like GIT, Jenkins, Bamboo, Maven, XL Deploy etc.Experience in Testing Frameworks like Junit, Mockito, Selenium, Jasmine, Karma etc.Familiarity with containerization technologies like Dockers, PCF etc.Experience in enterprise search engines like Lucene, SOLR, Elastic etc.Familiarity on open source software like Rabbit MQ and KafkaFull SDLC experience leveraging Agile, TDD and BDD for building and rolling out highly transactional and highly available platforms hosted on-premise & on CloudMust have been in a "hands on" technology role and able to guide team to troubleshoot critical issues in design or codeAwareness on latest technology trends, engineering processes, practices and metricsShould have a product/platform engineering backgroundStrong business domain understanding in financial services, preferably capital markets i.e. fixed income trading, wealth management and riskMust be a thought leader in one or more areas of technology PRB
