Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or ACCA Membership.
- Priority will be given to candidates with CIA certification or any other relevant internationally accredited certification.
- At least three years of managerial work experience in Audit of banks or five years of relevant work experience in other financial institutions.
- Strong communication skills, including oral communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Analytical skills.
- Problem-solving skills (conceptual and analytical thinking).
- Ability to promote the value of internal audit among key employees within the bank.
- Keeping abreast with regulatory changes and industry standards.
- Knowledge in auditing, internal audit standards, fraud awareness, and professional ethical standards.
- Knowledge in enterprise risk management (risk analysis and control assessment).
- Draw the Audit Plan at the beginning of each year and get it approved from the Audit Committee.
- Overall supervision of the Audit Division and planning visits for audits/inspections to branches.
- Monitor daily transactions of the bank and ensure compliance with audit laws, regulations, and circulars.
- Brief and guide the audit team about the workings of branches and areas of focus during audits.
- Conduct one comprehensive audit and two surprise inspections of each branch and review different divisions of the Head Office as per the approved plan.
- Ensure branches follow Head Office and regulatory instructions and check areas of concern.
- Review audit reports upon submission, point out weaknesses, and categorize audit objections as High, Medium, and Low risk.
- Obtain agreement or disagreement from Branch Managers and Heads of Departments on points raised in Audit Reports.
- Dispatch Audit Reports and serious irregularities to concerned branches with management observations and recommendations.
- Inform the Board of Supervisors about observations in Audit Reports and responses from management regarding rectification timelines.
- Pre-audit expenses/proposals sent by Head Office.
- Report fraud cases to the Central Bank as required.
- Conduct special inquiries into various cases at branches and report to Head Office.
- Visit branches randomly to inspect their work and follow up on Audit Reports.
- Arrange training for staff on internal audit functions.
- Assess the suitability and sufficiency of the bank’s internal controls in accordance with Article 60 of Banking Law.
- Regularly monitor compliance with established requirements and rules.
- Analyze deficiencies in bank activities and employee performance, and prepare proposals for their elimination.
- Meet with the bank’s Board of Supervisors, Audit Committee, and/or Management regarding audit findings.
- Prepare regular reviews of unit activities and submit to the Board of Supervisors and Board of Management.
- Perform other tasks as determined by the Audit Committee or Board of Supervisors.
