About us: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay- Development and Relations Foundation (DRF) is a not-for-profit section 8 unit. IITB DRF facilitates Institute’s core mission and engages with our vibrant alumni community, corporations, and foundations with the goal of developing and sustaining long-term relationships. These groups are the key stakeholders in IIT Bombay’s journey of excellence. We encourage the involvement and participation of these entities in the Institute’s strategic initiatives. These include setting up world class research and academics in emerging areas of science and technology, building world class infrastructure, improving faculty value proposition, strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and contributing to the society. IITB DRF assists fundraising endeavours by way of donor solicitations, managing donor programs, maintaining financial accounts and reporting details of all activities implemented with alumni donations. Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of and implement a cohesive communications strategy, which includes envisioning and designing activities to power the DRF mission.
- Provide communications support to the organization's core programs, including generating demand and planning product/campaign launches for the organization
- Support the organization's internal communications, including preparing PowerPoint presentations, creating checklists and process documentation, and publishing guidelines
- Strategize on new products, launches, events, and promotion
- Develop, launch, and manage in-person and virtual events independently
- Lead the writing, production, design, and distribution of a wide variety of publications and collateral materials, including opinion articles, reports, press releases, newsletters, presentations, podcasts, statements, and other e-communications
- Support and manage the creation of digital, video, audio, and print content
- Manage and update social media and website content on a regular basis . Creation of Monthly analytics deck for Website & Social media
- Using analytics, Define and track digital and social media performance, measure the success of campaigns and translate data into practical, strategic, and tactical actions.
- Provide and enforce consistent, content creation support across a variety of formats (e.g.,creatives, infographics, blog posts, videos).
- Ensure quality control of all information released
- Collaborate with colleagues to ideate on content development strategy and review content prior to publication.
- Degree in communications, Media, Journalism, Public Policy, or a related field
- This position requires at least 5-8 years of relevant work experience. Experience working in communications for non-profit, media, academic, or research organizations is desirable
- Experience with a diverse set of stakeholders and liaising with external agencies and vendors; a proven track record of managing deadlines; and an aptitude for multimedia content production
- Proven experience in executing communications strategies
- Ability to think analytically and strategically and work under tight deadlines
- Communication skills: Detail-oriented, with excellent writing, copy-editing, and interpersonal skills. Deep understanding of the key principles of communicating messages in ways that non-technical audiences can understand. The incumbent needs to be precise, clear, and creative.
- Organization: Excellent strategic thinking and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and effectively manage time. Is able to bring consistently high levels of thoroughness and initiative to all projects undertaken.
- Demonstrated success in following through and successfully completing projects in a timely manner
- Interpersonal skills: Proven ability to collaborate and co-create with international teams and with clients and external stakeholders
- Experience in working with diverse stakeholders from different sectors, cultures, religions, and disciplines
- Depth of experience, maturity, confidence, ability to learn and adapt, and give and receive feedback
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects
- Ability to exercise sound judgment routinely and independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with web content management systems
- Familiarity with content creation tools (Adobe suite, Canva, etc.)
- Experience with analytics software, Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics, as well as social media platform reporting
- Ability to exercise cultural competency and work respectfully with a diverse team across varied cultures, geographies, and time zones
