We are seeking a skilled Social Behavior Research Specialist to join our client's Clinical Research team. This role focuses on integrating social behavior research into clinical studies, evaluating behavioral patterns, societal influences, and community engagement in healthcare. Additionally, this role will incorporate social behaviour research as a cost/revenue element to enhance the financial and operational structure of clinical studies.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in social behaviour research, particularly within a healthcare or clinical trial setting. Experience with budgeting and financial modelling for research studies is a plus.
This is a remote-based role with potential travel to research sites, community settings, and conferences. Flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment are essential.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field (required). A Master’s degree or PhD in Social Behaviour Research, Health Psychology, or a related discipline is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in social behaviour research, particularly within a healthcare or clinical trial setting. Experience with budgeting and financial modelling for research studies is a plus.
Proficiency in social behaviour research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative).
Strong data analysis skills with knowledge of statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo).
Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both academic and non-academic audiences.
Ability to integrate social research into broader study designs and manage its financial aspects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Integration of Social Behaviour Research:
Design and implement social behaviour research as part of clinical trials, considering societal and individual factors that affect health outcomes.
Work with clinical teams to identify key behavioural indicators that may influence study results.
Develop protocols to assess social behaviours like patient compliance and community engagement.
Cost/Revenue Element Design:
Incorporate social behaviour research as a revenue-generating element in clinical studies.
Collaborate with financial teams to develop budgets reflecting the cost of social behavior research.
Contribute to funding proposals and grant applications to secure revenue through social research.
Data Collection & Analysis:
Oversee data collection methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observational studies.
Ensure compliance with ethical standards, particularly regarding participant consent and privacy.
Analyze how social behaviours impact clinical study outcomes and healthcare interventions.
Community Engagement & Stakeholder Management:
Lead community engagement efforts to integrate social behaviour studies within diverse populations.
Collaborate with local communities and healthcare providers to understand social factors affecting healthcare access and behaviours.
Develop materials to explain the impact of social behaviour research to participants.
Reporting & Dissemination:
Prepare reports and presentations that provide insights into social behaviour research.
Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
Communicate with sponsors, regulatory bodies, and funders on the value of social behaviour research.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work with epidemiologists, health economists, and clinical researchers to integrate social behaviour research into study designs.
Contribute to team meetings, highlighting how social factors impact clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
