This is a contract Role & Inside IR 35 Software Engineer (TypeScript) Contract Duration : 12 months. Location: Remote – UK Job Description The KWS Age Assurance Team needs to deliver multiple new verification methods to our KWS solution early next year as well as delivering some new functionality which will be required by our legal and policy teams (such as under 18 age assurance). The contractors brought in under this proposal would work across both of these initiatives, augmenting the existing staff of the team rather than working on one particular project. This is to ensure that knowledge is spread around the team rather than knowledge of such a key area being concentrated in the minds of contractors rather than FTEs. Technologies - Typescript - NestJS - AWS - DynamoDB - PostGres - Kubernetes - Kafka Soft Skills : The team thrives on communication. We use Slack for most conversations but using Zoom whenever chatting properly is more effective. We need to add people to the team who are keen to ask for help when they need it and give it when they can. We want people who over- rather than under-communicate. We prefer people in the team whose inclination is to collaborate rather than work on their own, and someone who is able to give and receive code reviews, advice and support constructively. Development Process: We work in two week Sprints. Our work is tracked in JIRA and we use CircleCI/GitHub pipelines for deployment. We have Product Managers within each team who manage the backlog and we have an Engineering Lead for each team who provides leadership to the Engineering effort. We have daily stand-up meetings for each team with planning meetings, retrospectives and sprint reviews every sprint.
