Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Lead- Accounts & Finance to join our dynamic team. The Team Lead- Accounts & Finance will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and bookkeeping practices and processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with an eye for looking into details and a passion for learning and growth. As the Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our bookkeeping team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, and maintaining strong client relationships. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of accounting professionals.
Assign tasks and projects, ensuring balanced workloads and timely completion.
Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and updates.
Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor actual performance against budgets, analyze variances, and provide insights for corrective actions.
Internal Controls:
Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial records and reports prepared by the team.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement within the accounting function.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance.
Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Prepare and file tax returns and other regulatory reports accurately and on time.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Address and resolve any accounting-related inquiries or issues promptly.
Training and Development:
Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
Project Management:
Lead and manage special accounting projects, such as system implementations, mergers and acquisitions, or financial restructuring.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Financial Analysis and Strategy:
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance and trends.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track team performance.
Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and sales, to support overall business objectives.
Communicate effectively with team members, management, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of financial goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is a plus.
Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
