The Position

As the Health Access and Policy Partner, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an integrated access strategy that demonstrates the value of our diagnostics solutions and drives policy changes to improve diagnostic access and health outcomes in alignment with Roche organizational ambition. Work with internal and external stakeholders to co-create strategies and solutions that help expand access to healthcare and promote standard of care for patients in Malaysia. Ensure that Roche Diagnostics is a sought-after partner and recognized thought leader to provide input to key policy stakeholders. In this position, you will be in a key role to help shape and enable the RDMY strategy and contribute to the overall Roche Diagnostics vision. You demonstrate personal purpose around improving the healthcare ecosystem, thinking from an enterprise level, beyond boundaries and borders, to bring the best possible outcomes to the health environment; creating better health outcomes for more patients faster, and by bringing a strong entrepreneurial mentality with outstanding partnering capabilities.

In this role, you will

  • Lead the development of the Malaysia access strategy and work closely with Regional and Global Access & Policy counterparts, APAC affiliates and key internal stakeholders to deliver an access strategy that leads to rapid, broad and sustainable access to diagnostics solutions.
  • Co-create access materials and outputs that incorporate diverse stakeholder perspectives such as HTA bodies, Payers, Policy Makers, Governments, and Patients to successfully support funding and access processes locally.
  • Develop the health systems and access strategy by undertaking research, understanding the different access and healthcare systems and environments, health issues and opportunities aligning with the overall long-term organizational strategy and vision.
  • Explore innovative access solutions by researching global and regional trends, context of the specific environments, testing solutions, engaging with experts, piloting solutions and managing implementation as required.
  • Develop/adapt overall and disease area access framework for health themes impacting Access in Malaysia and implement and contribute to above-product Access Strategies by developing narrative, key messages and frameworks.
  • Position Roche as a preferred solution partner by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with relevant government bodies (e.g. Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance) and interest relevant groups and stakeholders.
  • Pursue Government Funding and Position Roche as a Disease Expert: Identify and secure government funding opportunities with Access Team while positioning Roche as a leading expert in specific disease areas.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders (internal & external), gaining a deep understanding of their needs and identifying shared purpose in order to create fruitful partnerships, influence and shape disease ecosystems for patient access to high value solutions. Collaborate with other Roche divisions to identify and leverage the “One Roche” opportunities across the region.
Who You Are You are someone who are/have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science/Pharmacy or related subjects from a reputable University. Master degree or doctoral degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • At least 5-7 years of diverse healthcare experience in Medical, Clinical, Pharmaceutical Marketing or selling to clinicians. Additional Business qualification and Market Access experience desired.
  • Detailed technical/clinical knowledge of disease portfolio, patient journey, health economic models and solid knowledge of the clinical marketplace.
  • Strong ability to work in a matrix and collaborative environment. Preferable with coaching experience.
