Job Summary:This role encompasses the overall requirements for managing safety operations across all IIS sites in India. The Safety professional is responsible for ensuring the implementation and adherence to safety protocols and regulations in the all IIS facilities. This role involves conducting safety inspections, Fire safety inspections, emergency preparedness, issuing PTW to ensure safe work compliance, training employees, including contractors, and promoting a culture of safety within the workplace. Additionally, the Safety professional will oversee the Contractor safety management.Job Description:1. Safety Compliance:- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.-Implement JSW Safety standards and Safety policies including PCM & Reward Recognition policies.2. Risk Management:- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.3. Training and Education:- Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees.- Provide specialized training for contractors, focusing on Contractor safety management.- Promote safety awareness and best practices among staff.4. Vehicle Driver Training:- Conduct regular training sessions for Ambulance drivers, drivers of any vehicles used within the facility.- Assess drivers' performance and provide feedback and coaching.- Ensure drivers are aware of and adhere to all safety protocols and driving regulations.5. IIS Facility Checks:- Conduct regular inspections of IIS Facility to ensure they are free from any hazards.- Verify that all safety features and equipment on IIS facility are functional.- Report and address any maintenance issues promptly.6. Incident Investigation:- Ontime reporting of incidents as per JSW protocol- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes.- Recommend and implement preventive measures with the help of IIS leadership.7. Emergency Preparedness:- Develop and implement emergency response plans.- Conduct regular emergency drills.8. Documentation and Reporting:- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.- Prepare and submit required safety reports.9. Safety Equipment:- Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).- Regularly inspect and maintain safety equipment.10. Collaboration:- Work closely with management and staff to implement JSW safety policy and applicable procedures.- Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to safety initiatives.11. Continuous Improvement:- Identify opportunities for improving safety practices.- Stay informed about new developments in safety management and technology.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience as a Safety professional- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to conduct training sessions and present information effectively.- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.- Certification in occupational safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.Skills and Competencies:- Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively convey safety policies, procedures, and recommendations to all levels of the organization- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Strong organizational and time management skills.- Commitment to fostering a culture of safety within the workplace.Working Conditions:- Must be able to travel based on the different IIS locations.
