Graaf Reinet Area – Eastern Cape: Our client is looking for a Workshop Manager / Mechanic to join the team.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and reliable individual capable of problem-solving and forward planning, demonstrating a proven track record of vehicle fleet management and vehicle maintenance with excellent interpersonal skills.

Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Recognized qualification as a diesel mechanic
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on diesel vehicles
  • Experience in general maintenance of water pumps and other machinery
  • Experience in a supervisory/people management role
  • Passion for vehicles
  • General ability to problem-solve and fix things
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in English and Afrikaans
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Teamwork

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Maintenance of the reserve’s fleet of vehicles, including preventative and ad hoc maintenance
  • Ordering of parts and ensuring their timely delivery
  • Maintenance of a neat and organized workshop with an adequate stock of frequently used spares
  • Supervision and training of workshop staff
  • Contribution towards sustainability goals by constantly seeking ways to make vehicle and workshop operations more environmentally friendly
  • Repairs and maintenance of gate motors and solar and electrical water pumps
  • Effective financial management of workshop operations through the administration and recording of orders, stock control and working within agreed budgets
  • Record-keeping of vehicle service schedules and other related administrative tasks
  • Ensuring quality and care of workshop equipment and products in accordance with standard operating procedures
