Graaf Reinet Area – Eastern Cape: Our client is looking for a Workshop Manager / Mechanic to join the team.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and reliable individual capable of problem-solving and forward planning, demonstrating a proven track record of vehicle fleet management and vehicle maintenance with excellent interpersonal skills.
Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Recognized qualification as a diesel mechanic
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on diesel vehicles
- Experience in general maintenance of water pumps and other machinery
- Experience in a supervisory/people management role
- Passion for vehicles
- General ability to problem-solve and fix things
- Keen attention to detail
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Teamwork
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Maintenance of the reserve’s fleet of vehicles, including preventative and ad hoc maintenance
- Ordering of parts and ensuring their timely delivery
- Maintenance of a neat and organized workshop with an adequate stock of frequently used spares
- Supervision and training of workshop staff
- Contribution towards sustainability goals by constantly seeking ways to make vehicle and workshop operations more environmentally friendly
- Repairs and maintenance of gate motors and solar and electrical water pumps
- Effective financial management of workshop operations through the administration and recording of orders, stock control and working within agreed budgets
- Record-keeping of vehicle service schedules and other related administrative tasks
- Ensuring quality and care of workshop equipment and products in accordance with standard operating procedures
