Lead Software Engineer

Lead Software Engineer- Cardiff/Remote- up to £90k Our client a household tech/fintech brand based out of Cardiff are looking to bring in a Lead Software Engineer to work on an exciting project roadmap. This brands technology offering serves millions of users a month and is genuinely designed to improve peoples lives. This role is a split between technical and people leadership with a fairly even split of both hands on with technology and people management. Responsibilities:

• Leading and mentoring the team
• Own technical roadmap and set Technical direction
• Ensure delivery of great software
• Team motivation and performance
• Adhering to best practice and standards
• Instilling values within the team
• Improvement of tech debt
• Work closely with the Product and DevOps function
• Foster relationships with other teams and key stakeholders
• Drive Agile practices

• Experience with Cloud technologies (they use Azure)
• Experience with CI/CD
• Worked in a high performing software team with applications that have had a lot of users
• Tech Agnostic- they will consider anyone from any background (their products have predominantly built within the Microsoft Ecosystem)
• Experience working in Agile environment
• Has driven software products with the customer experience in mind
• Worked in a modern software development environment, startups or tech first brands would be highly desirable

1. 1st stage screening call
2. 2nd round, pairing- 1 hour
3. 3rd & 4th- Leadership competency- 1 hour each, might be able to be condensed into one stage
4. 5th- final call with CTO

• Salary- up to £90k
• Hybrid- 2 days per week in Cardiff
