We’re looking for a passionate Software Engineering Manager to lead our talented team in developing cutting-edge Class 3 In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) medical devices. Our team is dedicated to adhering to the highest standards, including ISO 13485 and IEC 62304, ensuring that the software team consisting of Embedded and Kotlin/Java and test engineers to complete compliant high quality code. You will be a key figure in the business reporting to the Engineering Director. Position: Software Architect/ Manager Location: Majority Remote with occasional site visits to Manchester Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in designing and developing high-quality software for our IVD devices.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including regulatory affairs, quality assurance, and product management, to align on project goals and timelines.
- Drive best practices in software development, from coding standards to testing and deployment.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Proven experience in software engineering management, preferably within the medical device or regulated industry.
- Familiarity with Software coding
- Strong knowledge of software development standards, including ISO 13485 and IEC 62304.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Jira or equivalent for ticketing and management
- Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools (Prince2 or equivalent is recognised).
- A passion for technology and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
- Competitive salary £110,000 - £130,000 but there is flexibility upwards of this figure for the right person along with a comprehensive benefits package.
