About the Role:
Reporting
The Director of Engineering (DoE) reports directly to the Senior Director of Canadian Operations (SDoCO).

Duties & Responsibilities
Sets and support the department's vision, mission and values that support the higher corporate objectives.
Participate in staff acquisition, training, performance reviews, advancement and departure processes.
Define department KPI's in accordance with company strategic objectives. Measure, report and proactively manage the department KPI's.
Maintain and update department procedures manual.
Oversee and coordinate the Engineering product change management process.
Manage and maintain the company's Supplemental Type Certification (STC) portfolio.
Ensure all design and administrative paperwork are maintained in accordance with the company Design Approval Procedures Manual (DAPM) and Engineering Procedure Manuals (EPM).
Support generating quotes and business cases for new STC/RDA/PDA development projects.
Work with Sales and Marketing to determine pricing for the department's STC products and customer support.
Maintain a positive working relationship with TCCA and foreign national airworthiness (CAA) authorities.
Ensure that internal and external audits are conducted in accordance with department requirements.
Manage the department's interactions with customers, suppliers and vendors as required to maintain productive and mutually beneficial relationships.
Assist in the development of annual department budgets.
Any other duties may be assigned by senior management.

Qualifications
Detailed knowledge of the aviation modification business is required.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred; Advanced degree in a related field (Masters, MBA, etc.) is an asset.
Must be able to effectively communicate (both written and verbal). Presentation skills are an asset.
Knowledge of aircraft certification procedures an asset.
Experience with ISO9001 quality standards and/or AS9100D Aerospace Standards is an asset.
Demonstrated capability and competency in field of expertise.
Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience is an asset.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally when necessary.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Experience
Minimum 12 years of experience in aircraft modification and/or maintenance.
5 years of related aviation management experience preferred.
