Position: Structural Engineer Location: Bahrain

What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Assist in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project.
  2. Coordinate with various government departments, contractors, consultants, and the public to facilitate progress and avoid delays.
  3. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most construction/engineering theories and practices.
  4. Coordinate direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
  5. Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.
  6. Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
  7. Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable. Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  8. Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
  9. Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the project safety representatives.
  10. Provide all necessary assistance to issue site instructions with respect to structural works and associated items.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  1. Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with a minimum of 10 years extensive work experience in infrastructure projects such as roads, highways, bridges, intersections, and tunnels.
  2. Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment.
  3. Knowledge of English grammar and composition, with the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages, and simple charts and graphs.
  4. Capability to perform math calculations to prepare engineering calculations, graphs, and charts.
  5. Proficiency with basic computer usage, Microsoft Office, Project Management Software, and internet search engines (like Google or equivalent).

  1. Ability to comply with a multitude of requirements as applicable to the project based on client and industry standards.
  2. Must have a thorough understanding of scheduling, and the ability to review progress pay estimates and extra work bills.
  3. Must be able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary.
  4. Ability to use good judgment and work with others is required.
  5. Requires the ability to climb ladders, inspect work above ground, and work in confined spaces.
