Job Description
Position: Structural Engineer Location: BahrainWhat You’ll Be Doing
- Assist in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project.
- Coordinate with various government departments, contractors, consultants, and the public to facilitate progress and avoid delays.
- The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most construction/engineering theories and practices.
- Coordinate direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
- Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.
- Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
- Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable. Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
- Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the project safety representatives.
- Provide all necessary assistance to issue site instructions with respect to structural works and associated items.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with a minimum of 10 years extensive work experience in infrastructure projects such as roads, highways, bridges, intersections, and tunnels.
- Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment.
- Knowledge of English grammar and composition, with the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages, and simple charts and graphs.
- Capability to perform math calculations to prepare engineering calculations, graphs, and charts.
- Proficiency with basic computer usage, Microsoft Office, Project Management Software, and internet search engines (like Google or equivalent).

- Ability to comply with a multitude of requirements as applicable to the project based on client and industry standards.
- Must have a thorough understanding of scheduling, and the ability to review progress pay estimates and extra work bills.
- Must be able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary.
- Ability to use good judgment and work with others is required.
- Requires the ability to climb ladders, inspect work above ground, and work in confined spaces.
