SR. MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER - JACKSONVILLE,FL / US FLEXIBLE Purpose of Position The Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Metal Fabrication is responsible for standardizing and optimizing metal fabrication processes across multiple locations, including Jacksonville, FL, and Vancouver, Canada. This role ensures process control and best practices are aligned with mechanical design and product development teams, ensuring that all metal fabrication, from raw materials to mechanical assembly, meets the specified quality and manufacturing standards.Supervisory Responsibility:Lead and mentor the metal fabrication engineering team, including CNC programmers, and manufacturing engineers across multiple locations.Manage workflow and resolve bottlenecks in programming and fabrication tasks.Ensure cross-functional team collaboration with mechanical design, production, and quality departments.Essential Functions:MFG Project and Workflow Management:Oversee task workflows for metal programming and fabrication tasks, ensuring timely completion.Coordinate scheduling, meetings, and deadlines for both engineering and production teams.Maintain documentation, project updates, and generate regular progress reports.Optimize personnel and material resources to enhance departmental efficiency.Process Standardization and Optimization:Standardize fabrication processes across all locations, addressing tooling and operating discrepancies.Improve processes related to CNC lasers, punches, press brakes, and bus bar fabrication.Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce waste.Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System and safety protocols.Collaboration with Design Engineers:Work with design engineers to develop manufacturable design standards.Facilitate communication between design and manufacturing teams to align processes.Establish a feedback loop to optimize designs for manufacturability.CNC Programming Oversight:Supervise CNC programmers and ensure consistency in program quality.Develop and implement standardized CNC programs across all facilities.New Product Development (NPD):Support/lead efforts to industrialize new product designs into production.Coordinate NPD projects, ensuring compliance with policies, design validation, and quality standards.Manage capital investments for NPD to ensure on-time integration into production.Technical Leadership and Mentorship:Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting professional growth.Resolve team conflicts to maintain a productive working environment.Expertise in metal fabrication processes such as CNC lasers, punches, press brakes, and bus bar fabrication a plus.Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).Strong leadership and project management skills, with a focus on process improvement and team development.Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and safety protocols.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.Certifications like PMP, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma preferred.Experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically in metal fabrication, including process standardization and optimization.
