In this role, you will support the Director (External Reporting & Accounting Policy) and Vice President (Business Planning & Reporting) in the preparation, analysis, and reporting of consolidated information and Business Unit reporting. You will ensure compliance with policies in accordance with the applicable accounting standards (US GAAP and IFRS), rate regulated and Province reporting requirements, and support preparation of financial reporting and disclosure requirements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. You will also lead/participate in presenting to senior and executive leadership on process, accounting, and disclosure matters as they arise. Effective business partnering and communication skills are key attributes for success in this role.Minimum Requirements7+ years of experience, including public accounting firms.4+ years of experience as a CPA, CA, or International CPA in good standing of an international accounting body recognized in Canada (e.g., US CPA, CA/ACCA).University degree (ideally, in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting) or equivalent.Experience with corporate controllership or financial close processes (including timely consolidation close; monthly reporting processes; preparation and review of financial statements; and management reporting).Strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR) and experience implementing and monitoring control frameworks.Demonstrated ability to effectively develop, engage, and supervise finance staff.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to senior executives and non-finance stakeholders.Proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with external auditors and other key stakeholders.Experience or exposure to digital transformation and finance software implementation activities.Proficiency in financial reporting software and systems, such as SAP/S4 Hana, Consolidation tools.Nice to Have Skills & ExperienceUtilities, power, extractive, construction, or capital-intensive industry experience.
