Position Overview: The Art Curriculum Development Intern will work closely with the Art Curriculum Development Team to support the creation and enhancement of art education materials. The intern will primarily assist in shadowing and supporting lesson designers within the team, while also contributing to administrative tasks as needed. This role offers a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in art education and curriculum development to gain practical experience in a dynamic educational environment. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Shadowing Lesson Designers:
  • Observe and learn from experienced lesson designers within the team.
  • Assist in the development of art curriculum materials under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for lesson plans and activities.
  1. Supporting Curriculum Development:
  • Assist in researching educational resources, including art techniques, historical contexts, and contemporary trends.
  • Collaborate with the team to gather and organize visual references, instructional materials, and supplementary resources for curriculum development.
  • Provide input on the adaptation of curriculum materials to meet diverse learner needs and educational standards.
  1. Administrative Tasks:
  • Assist with administrative duties such as organizing files, managing documentation, and scheduling meetings.
  • Help maintain databases and spreadsheets related to curriculum development projects.
  • Support communication within the team and with external stakeholders through email correspondence and other channels.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Art Education, Fine Arts, Art History, or a related field.
  • Passion for art education and a desire to contribute to the development of innovative curriculum materials.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and willingness to learn new skills.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with educational technology tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Classroom, Drive, etc)
  • Proficiency with Zoom meetings
