Data Engineering Manager Remote Circa £85,000 Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Data Engineering Manager to lead a small team of engineers in managing, analysing, and automating complex data workflows. The successful candidate will have strong experience in MongoDB, SQL and data ingestion via APIs. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing data pipelines, automating data manipulation and migration, and ensuring seamless data integration within customer environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team of data engineers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Data Analysis & Manipulation: Lead the analysis, manipulation, and automation of large and complex data sets from multiple sources, including structured and unstructured data.
- Database Expertise: Utilize expertise in MongoDB and SQL to design, manage, and optimize data storage and retrieval processes.
- Data Automation & Migration: Develop and implement automated data workflows, including data migration and transformation between systems.
- API Integration: Interact with external APIs and build custom applications to manage data ingestion and integration from various sources.
- Customer Environment Management: Collaborate with customer teams to ensure seamless data integration, manipulation, and migration within their environments, ensuring compliance with business requirements and technical standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other internal teams and stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data across customer projects.
- Proven experience managing a team of engineers in a data-focused role.
- Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB and SQL for data storage, querying, and manipulation.
- Expertise in handling and automating large and complex data sets.
- Experience with ETL technologies
- Experience developing API integrations and building applications for data ingestion.
- Experience working directly with customer environments, ensuring seamless integration and data management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages for data automation tasks.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
