KM Lynskey are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our expanding team in the subcontracting division of the business. The successful candidate will have significant knowledge of design within construction with at least five years relevant experience, experience of BIM and strong communication skills. THE ROLE: Design Manager As Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design stage of ceiling / partition / fit out projects mainly in Data Centre construction. The role of Design Manager involves the following responsibilities:? Lead and co-ordinate and manage design and BIM teams to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions. Liaising with site management, subcontractors and stakeholders as necessary Working to ensure client design requirements are adhered to. Collaborate with all project stakeholders to understand requirements and develop design strategies that meet project objectives. Oversee the production of design documentation, including drawings, BIM models, relevant specifications, and technical reports. Conduct design reviews/feasibility studies for existing products and new products to identify issues in advance and implement necessary actions. Ensuring that our current building techniques are up to date with latest codes of practice, building regulations and legislation in relation to project compliance and required standards. Broad knowledge of regulatory, commercial and technical issues that could impact design concerns. Preparing a library of documentation for all products which will be required for relevant projects; also submitting Technical Submittals for various projects. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving innovation and excellence in design practices. Dealing with all design related activities on the projects which will involve liaison with the client appointed parties. REQUIREMENTS: Essential Skills Experience as a design manager / coordinator with strong knowledge of BIM In depth knowledge of building regulations and standards. High level experience in understanding design documents, drawings and 3-D models Ability to effectively manage design process and associated schedules to required deadlines Strong I.T skills are essential, particularly Microsoft Suite Full Irish driving license Ability to working in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.
