Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Marine Structures Engineer to join our Vancouver office. As part of the Marine Structures Group, the Marine Structures Engineer will perform design for waterfront structures and marine infrastructures projects, including marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, breakwater, and shore protection structures. The ideal candidate has 6-10 years' experience working from conceptual layout through the design process.

Duties and responsibilities:

Structural analysis, design, and detailing for concrete, steel, timber, etc.
Inspection and Rehabilitation of waterfront structures
Urban waterfront projects
Management of marine structural projects and teams
Construction Support
Knowledge of shoreline protection materials, breakwaters design
Awareness of project budgets, contracting strategies, scheduling document preparation and support and evaluation

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's in Structural Engineering preferred
6-10 years of experience in Marine structural engineering design and project management with a consulting firm or marine-related client, required
DOD marine structural engineering project experience a plus
Good communication skills and ability to work with a team approach
Availability and willingness to travel
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
Base salary range:
C$95,400 to C$116,600 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Vancouver, Canada markets.
Working conditions:
Majority of work is office-based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
