Group Accountant

KPI's include the full accounting function including GL preparation, B/S recons, audit, etc. Ensure the financial results are reliable, accurate, and completed within strict deadlines.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSuccessful incumbent will have a completed B.Com (Accounting), with completed articles as well as 5+ years experience in a similar role. Duties include:Daily supervision of staff performance and outputCompilation of B/S reconsCheck B/S recons and bank reconsCashflow management and approval of daily and weekly cashflow forecastsApproval and payment of creditorsAuthorisation and signing of cheques within mandate, ensuring correct allocations, authorisation amounts, etc., and applying proper internal control over all paymentsQuality assuring the compilation of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial Statements and related management reportsAssist in quarterly board pack preparationsMonth and year-end journalsCompilation of budgets and forecastsCompilation of AFSPreparation of year-end recons, schedules, and files for auditCalculation and submission of monthly VAT returnsCalculation and submission of provisional tax and income tax returnsDaily integrations and reconciliations are done on time and accurate as per daily dashboardMonth-end procedures and month-end systems closure, check that all control accounts and sub-ledgers are in balance at month-endTesting reports and processesAssist users with daily queries and resolving issuesResolving specific system issues with service providers and provide feedback to users and managementApprovals of credit appsSolid Excel and SAGE highly advantageous.Package & RemunerationR600K - R600K pa
