Job Purpose

• The SME candidate should have thorough knowledge in life verticals [Pharmaceutical / F&B] original equipment manufacturing processes [OEM] and its infrastructure. The SME candidate’s major responsibility is to design solutions architecture for the clients existing systems/processes and develop/propose Yokogawa based automation solutions [controls/data logging/plant management…etc] for ensuring the clients are having its competitive advantage in the market.

• Understand customer needs, clarify current workflows, and create and maintain (technical) documentation (e.g., guidelines, SOPs, end user work instructions) while compiling total solutions of automated systems which support Life Sector OEM machineries and processes.
• Take a lead in life business development in collaboration with stakeholders, e.g., YMA Life BU, Regional sales members, Engineering, Service Center BU, and YHQLBU.
• Build rapport with Life vertical customers, gain insight into their emerged and/or potential issues, challenges, and propose appropriate products/solutions.
• Proactively approach customers to understand their business direction and investment plans, and carry out sales activities from early stages.
• Focus on Digitalization & Optimization opportunities in life vertical sectors [Pharma/F&B] and collaborate with YMA’s solution team members.
• Educate YHQ/YMA/other regions’ sales and solution members on Life verticals as a technical advisor/consultant.
• Apply expertise to identify and articulate why a client does or does not want a change based on their business objectives and challenges.
• Benchmark competitors’ solutions and promote the strengths of Yokogawa Solutions.
• Conduct market research and create market presence on promoting optimum solutions to the industry.
• Keep customers at the center of sales, collaborate with customers, and use common terminology.
• Use comprehensive knowledge and skills to guide and train others in identifying key buying influences.
• Assess clients’ feedback about the proposed solution and leverage strategic coaches to support partner relationships.
• Identify client-specific differentiators and connect solutions to client objectives.
• Develop and identify industry/application-wide digital technologies suitable for business use.
• Create an environment conducive to successful interaction and customer satisfaction.

• Bachelor’s Engineering preferably in Automation/AI/Control Systems/Chemical/Mechatronics/Electronics/Electrical or similar.
• Overall 5+ years of experience in life verticals industry including engineering/process/operations/projects commissioning.
• Understanding of digital transformation or related fields, such as IT strategy or enterprise architecture.
• Strong understanding of life vertical factory processes, optimization & latest digital technologies in this field.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams.
• Analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective digital transformation strategies.
• Proven track record of success in driving revenue growth.
• Must be willing and able to travel throughout the regional headquarters (Middle East & Africa).
• Experience in QA, QC, R&D departments.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders. [Bilingual in English and Arabic is an added advantage]
• Thorough knowledge in Life Vertical OEM manufacturing process.
• Strong knowledge of latest digitalization technologies & their use/impact on the Life Sector.
• Knowledge of the latest market trends in ME and Africa.
• Software skills in data analysis, charting & PowerPoint presentations.
• In-depth understanding of industry trends, challenges, and opportunities within the life business sector.
• Ability to translate complex scientific information into practical, customer-focused solutions.
