Lead Frontend Software Engineer - JavaScript - React - Redux - TypeScript - London. Work on a greenfield development project - build a new trading platform starting in 2025. Are you an experienced frontend developer with a passion for designing and developing UIs in highly transactional financial services environments? Miller Maxwell is assisting a rapidly expanding electronic trading organization in their search for a Lead Frontend Engineer to join their highly skilled engineering and frontend development team in London. This leading provider of options trading solutions is globally renowned for its reliability, speed, and exceptional customer service. As the organization expands its digital currency trading divisions in 2024, this role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation. Key Responsibilities for the Lead Frontend Software Engineer:

  • Work on a key program of work starting in 2025 to build a brand new electronic trading platform.
  • Build and adapt JavaScript libraries for high-performance browser usage.
  • Develop and maintain front-end applications used by front-office users.
  • Design and develop UIs for the their core platform and new platform.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across the business and report directly to the CTO.
  • Mentor Frontend Engineers working as part of the team.
  • Suggest and implement new ideas into the code base.
Requirements for the Lead Frontend Software Engineer
  • A degree in a STEM-related subject.
  • At least 5 years of commercial frontend development experience within an electronic trading environment.
  • This experience could be within; an Investment Bank, Brokerage, Hedge Fund, Asset Manager, Electronic Exchange.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript with ReactJS and TypeScript.
  • Experience with Redux.js, GIT, Node, HTML, and CSS.
  • Proven experience in building robust and reliable UI's.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders.
  • An eye for design is a plus.
Additional Information:
  • The role requires attendance at the client’s London office (near Monument station) 3 days per week; this is not a fully remote position.
