Job Summary: To be the Creative Leader to develop and motivate multiple design teams to provide innovative and high-quality design projects to meet and exceed client satisfaction. Responsibilities:

  1. Focus on creative design solutions that reflect the brand and culture of our clients.
  2. Support Pace’s expanding portfolio of work across the Middle East, to work on the design of major projects, based in our Kuwait studio.
  3. Act as Project Creative Director for a number of projects, whether the design is initiated in-house or in collaboration with an international concept architect, at all stages of the design process, ensuring projects meet Pace’s high standards for quality design, coordination, technical documentation and specification.
  4. Provide input and support to Pace’s numerous projects across the Middle East and assist the practice leadership in securing new opportunities and helping to develop a broad client base; act as an established expert or demonstrate increasing specialization in a particular design and/or technical area.
  5. Report into the Director of Interior Design for the regular management of design projects and provide support and design mentoring to multiple projects under design. When appropriate, you will also be responsible for project management, design leadership & coordination of specific projects or project elements.
  6. Preparing concept designs for hospitality, mixed-use and workplace interior design projects.
  7. Delivering and managing complex projects and leading design teams.
  8. Guiding and managing the work of multi-disciplinary teams including in-house and external concept design teams along with external sub-consultants.
  9. Develop positive relationships with clients, stakeholders and international collaborators.
  10. Deliver and manage design quality reviews of projects at all stages of the design process.
  11. Involve in taking a leading role in the design and delivery of Pace’s work across sectors and in all regions where we are active.
  12. Research project briefs, materials and construction products and systems, including enhancing the office library and using electronic information retrieval systems.
  13. Oversee the production of detailed and design drawings using computer-aided design software packages including 3D and BIM technology.
  14. Liaise with and coordinate the work of consultants and sub-contractors on specific design packages or elements on projects.
  15. Communicate work and ideas with internal and external teams, including consulting with in-house design teams, external consultants, clients and contractors and communicating instructions, actions and feedback as appropriate.
  16. Contribute to and chair relevant internal and external meetings and make notes and follow-up actions where appropriate.
  17. Assist in work winning initiatives including developing bids and proposals; meeting and presenting to new and existing clients.
  18. Build effective working relationships with external clients and collaborators, including identifying new collaborators where appropriate.
  19. Contribute towards the development of the business by delivering project information, reports, drawings and other material of exceptional quality in line with international best practice.
  20. Keep up to date with industry trends, innovations and developments and share this knowledge with the rest of the team.
Professional Skills and Experience:
  • 20+ years working with design of commercial interiors, hospitality or corporate workplaces.
  • 10+ years leading interior design teams.
  • International industry experience including Middle East.
  • Supporting work portfolio to showcase a history of creative designs that enhance use of space and experience.
  • Managed interior design projects for corporate workplace, hospitality and retail projects from inception to completion.
  • Track record of successful designs that have contributed to quality of life and user experience in terms of functionality, efficiency and aesthetics.
  • Experience on projects involving LEED and WELL sustainable goals.
  • Track record of building and growing successful interior design teams, and as a creative leader in interior design solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design in interior design, architecture or equivalent.
  • 20+ years working with design of commercial interiors, hospitality or corporate workplaces.
  • 10+ years leading interior design teams.
  • LEED AP and WELL.
  • International Interior Design Association (IIDA) membership.
  • RIBA / AIA equivalent.
