Principal JavaScript Developer
- £80k and £90k + bonus and benefits.
- Manchester city centre (3 days a week WFH + flexible start times: 7am -10am)
- Designing, developing, and optimizing full-stack JavaScript systems and components (React, Node.js,
- Scaling and performance optimisation of web frontend and interaction with API layers
- Works to increase team cohesion by being a collaboration first person – such as helping up skill peers, engaging in pair programming and providing high quality code reviews
- Resolve high-level, complex software challenges and optimise system performance
- Implement and follow software development processes, including Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Document software design, code, and test procedures
- Participate in the estimation of software development projects
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation
- Mentor Junior Developers and assist with their professional development.
- Significant commercial experience in the web stack of React, Node.js, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Demonstrable understanding of low latency, high-scale approaches such as WebSockets
- Thorough grasp of distributed web caching tools and techniques, e.g. Redis, etc
- Demonstrable understanding of fundamental software development best practices, architectures and patterns
- Proponent of high-quality code and able to demonstrate methods and practises to achieve metrics like high unit test coverage
- Awareness of modern deployment methodologies
- Expertise in performance optimisation of web technologies
- Any additional experience including React Native, MongoDB or Hazelcast
- Hybrid remote working (2 days a week in Manchester office)
