Senior Legal Counsel

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in supervising and handling legal affairs for data centers globally. This position involves offering strategic legal guidance and assistance for the organization's data center activities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in various regions, managing legal risk, and structuring and negotiating contracts. This senior-level role requires excellent legal knowledge, strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a broad range of legal matters related to data center operations, including contracts, compliance, intellectual property, privacy, data protection, and regulatory issues.

Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts and agreements, including customer contracts, service level agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements, ensuring the company's interests are protected and legal risks are minimized.

Compliance Management: Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the data center industry, monitor compliance, and develop policies and procedures to ensure adherence.

Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks, develop strategies to mitigate them, provide proactive advice, and guide the business to prevent legal issues and disputes.

Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes, including contract disputes, through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation as necessary. Collaborate with external legal counsel when required.

Legal Documentation: Prepare and maintain legal documentation, records, and reports, including legal opinions, memoranda, and corporate governance documents.

Corporate Governance: Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with company policies, bylaws, and laws.

Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide legal guidance and training on legal matters and best practices.

External Engagement: Liaise with external parties to represent the company's interests and stay informed of legal developments.

Team Management: Oversee a team of legal professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master's degree in law.

Experience: Minimum of 15 years in a legal role, with at least 3 years of experience in data center related matters, including contract drafting and negotiations.

Legal Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Contract Management: Proven experience in negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts.

Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships.

Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
