This position offers the flexibility to be in-office or participate in hybrid options in our Saskatoon or Regina office.JOB FUNCTIONIf you are passionate about contributing to development and maintenance initiatives that modernize systems, then we're looking for you! Reporting directly to the Manager, IT Product Delivery, the successful candidate will provide value to members and internal stakeholders by developing new applications and by ensuring applications are secure and up to date. We're looking for people who:Share our valuesBelieve that creating great experiences is totally within their controlCollaborate and always set others up for successBuild positive relationships and an understanding of what people's needs areSee solutions and possibilities (not problems!)Are simply outstanding at what they doDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop new applications using OutSystems to support Saskatchewan Blue Cross initiativesEnsure systems and processes are current, modernizing and replacing existing systems and processes as requiredUtilize creative problem solving and technical knowledge to investigate and fix bugs in codeTroubleshoot technical issues by creating and maintaining test casesCollaborate with other members of the development team to solve complex technical problemsUtilize Agile project management best practices, including participating in sprint planning, to improve existing processes and development activitiesCollaborate with project team members to support release planningActively participate in the user story review process prior to development to ensure accuracy of information collectedKeep stakeholders informed of development progress on a regular basis to ensure functionality is aligned to expectationsParticipate in code reviews to ensure application development activities are aligned to Saskatchewan Blue Cross and industry standardsPrioritize continuous learning to stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and development best practicesDemonstrate readiness to obtain certifications as required to support Saskatchewan Blue Cross initiativesRegular review and assessment of developmental goals, accomplishments, and priorities to meet personal, departmental and organizational objectivesUnderstand Agile concepts and values, and leverage these in daily activitiesOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSCompletion of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is requiredA minimum of 5 years of directly related experience working in an Application Development role, and a minimum of 3 years of recent experience working with the OutSystems PlatformKnowledge of modern programming practices, common testing tools and processes is requiredKnowledge of Agile development processes, experience using .NET or object-oriented programming (OOP) languages, and experience using low-code platforms would be considered an assetAbility to communicate ideas effectively to technical and non-technical users, verbally and in writingProblem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently, using creativity and ingenuity to address technical problemsAbility to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members across the organization and with external stakeholders resulting in collaborative workValues continuous learning with an ability to learn new programming languages and technology while remaining resilient in a fast-paced environmentA sense of initiative, with the ability to set priorities, follow workflows, and meet deadlinesExceptional customer service skills, with the ability to quickly identify issues and resolve them in a timely mannerAbility to compile and analyze information from various sources to resolve issues; determine impact to department and recommend solutionsLegally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basisCriminal Record and background check satisfactory to Saskatchewan Blue Cross
