External Identity QA Lead Job Description The 3M External Identity QA Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process for both UI and API testing. The QA Lead will ensure all software development activities meet quality criteria through effective test planning, test execution, test automation and issue tracking. This also includes reviewing and interpreting software functional requirements, designing documents and business process flows, meetings with stakeholders and continuous calibration with the rest of the testing team. This person will be responsible for completing all testing-related activities for the 3M External Identity team in addition to automation of all test cases. This role will utilize various tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Postman, Newman, and Jest to achieve comprehensive test coverage. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership and Management

• Lead and mentor the external identity team in best practices for testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing requirements and strategies.

• Develop and implement a robust testing strategy that includes both UI and API testing.
• Ensure that testing processes are efficient and effective, utilizing automation where possible.

• Utilize Cypress and Playwright for automated UI testing, ensuring that the user interface meets design specifications and functions correctly across different browsers and devices.
• Implement best practices for writing resilient tests that are less prone to breakage due to changes in the DOM.

• Lead API testing efforts using Postman and Newman for manual and automated tests, ensuring that APIs function as expected and handle various input scenarios correctly.
• Use Playwright for API testing to leverage its capabilities for network request interception and response validation.
• Implement Cypress for API testing, utilizing plugins like `cypress-plugin-api` to enhance testing capabilities.

• Design and maintain automated test scripts using Jest for unit testing and integration testing.
• Ensure that automated tests are integrated into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing.

• Generate detailed test reports and metrics to communicate testing progress and results to stakeholders.
• Document testing processes, test cases, and results to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

• Stay updated with the latest testing tools and methodologies to continuously improve the QA process.
• Foster a culture of quality within the team and across the organization.

• Proven experience in a QA Lead role or similar position.
• Strong knowledge of testing frameworks and tools, particularly Cypress, Playwright, Postman, Newman, and Jest.
• Experience with both UI and API testing methodologies.
• Attention to detail and very proactive.
• Strong written and advanced verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Experience participating in cross-functional, fast-paced and remote teams
• 5+ years of experience writing, executing tests cases and documenting the results.
• Experience in converting manual test cases/steps into automated scripts.
• 3+ year experience with Object oriented languages (JAVA, C#, etc).
• Experience with Agile development frameworks.
• Experience with Agile process tools (i.e. Jira, Git, Confluence, Rally, TFS, etc).
• Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML & CSS.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred ideally in the Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar Technology fields.
