We are seeking to hire a Director of Finance, based in The Peninsula Manila. This critical position plays a leadership role in executing and ensuring effective day-to-day financial management and control of the operation.

As part of the hotel leadership team, you will provide strategic financial direction and identify opportunities for commercial success to ensure continued growth and profitability, while being a close business partner to the rest of the executive management.

Key Accountabilities

Develop and lead a high-performing team of finance professionals, through clear goal setting and coaching.

Ensure there are proper accounting procedures in place with sufficient valid supporting information, all of which comply with local government requirements and are correctly filed and stored.

Ensure compliance with all terms and conditions of the management/lease agreements and associated legal documents. Keep and safeguard all contracts, leases, insurance policies and all legal and financial documents, and maintain a suitable "trace" system to ensure that there is sufficient time to consider and renew all contracts.

Lead the review and preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and monthly profit & loss statements in consultation with the General Manager and ensure all reports are prepared in accordance with accounting standards (both local and HK GAAP), statutory requirements, hotel industry-specific guidelines and Head Office requirements.

Ascertain that all taxes, contributions, licenses, interest and management fees are accurately calculated and paid on time; and ensure the timely payment of all valid supplier invoices under the agreed payment schedule.

Monitor capital expenditure and present a viable financial feasibility analysis for new investment proposals.

Review payroll budgets and FTEs, and work with the People and Culture team on productivity and workforce planning.

Provide advice to continuously improve operational efficiencies with proper internal control across Finance and other Divisions of the hotel. Investigate and resolve issues with division heads that may arise as a result of auditing activities.

Oversee the procurement function, review all purchase requisitions in accordance with group purchasing policies, and approve all purchases in view of the availability of funds, necessity and the budget.

Implement all necessary controls and procedures in order to safeguard the assets of the hotel and to maintain accurate records of fixed assets, operating equipment, supplies and inventories, which should be validated by a physical count performed on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Ensure day-to-day funding of the Operations and provide easy access to all relevant financial information at the earliest possible time.

General Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Hospitality.

Minimum 15 years of financial accounting experience and 5 years of management experience within the hospitality industry.

A strong people leader who is influential, demonstrates flexibility in approach, and has exceptional communication skills.

Excellent knowledge of local accounting laws and regulatory changes.

Thorough knowledge of accounting control and financial management processes.

Experience with complex taxation and financial agreements; demonstrated success in evaluating risks and developing proactive strategies to mitigate business issues.

Strong analytical skills and good business acumen; ability to present complex information effectively to senior management.
