About the Role: We are looking for a detail-oriented yet strategically minded individual with experience in clinical trial project management to join the growing Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT) team at Icon Group. The primary role of the IIT Project Manager is to contribute to delivering the growing portfolio of IITs in accordance with agreed resources, budget and timelines, whilst complying with all necessary sponsor procedural documents, international guidelines such as ICH GCP, as well as all applicable country-specific clinical trial regulations. The IIT portfolio may include Phase 1 - 4 studies as well as clinical registries and retrospective studies. The IIT Project Manager will work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, advocating for clinical trial participation across Icon Group, and will play a pivotal role in recognising new IIT opportunities to drive growth of the IIT portfolio, aligned to Icon’s strategic research directions. An important aspect of this role is identifying and delivering new funded IITs for the portfolio through relationships with commercial partners and applications to other grant funding schemes. Key Responsibilities at a glance:
  • Project management of the Icon IIT Portfolio, which may include study development, study and site feasibility and coordination of all applicable start-up activities, study management and monitoring, essential documentation management, recruitment, and publication, and team member education and communication of trial progress.
  • Identify opportunities for funded IITs and work collaboratively to develop strong applications for support from commercial partners or other grants schemes.
  • Participate in team building activities, including following the performance appraisal process to ensure team and individual goals are achieved and Icon values and behaviours are consistently demonstrated.
  • Participate in and promote and conduct on-the-job training and development programs, assistance of other team members and compliance with Icon’s policies and procedures to ensure that knowledge and skills are adequate to fulfil operational requirements.
About you: We are seeking an individual with clinical trial project management experience who is driven, detail-oriented and able to independently solve problems. With relevant research experience, you will have the ability to manage your workflow and build rapport with various stakeholders through strong effective communication, as well as think strategically to align new IITs to the growth of Icon Group. What are we hoping you bring to our team? Mandatory:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant health sciences or other allied health field
  • Proven organisational, analytical, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the capacity or experience to coordinate a complex portfolio of clinical research activity.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant local and international regulations and guidelines pertaining to the conduct of clinical research.
  • Quality and solutions focused mindset.
  • Current driver’s license
Desirable:
  • Minimum 2 years proven Project Management experience in clinical research.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply policies and procedures to achieve optimal outcomes for our clients and the role being undertaken.
  • Demonstrated verbal communication skills to develop internal and external stakeholder relationships, deal with issues sensitively and assertively and capability to both provide and receive positive and negative feedback.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills to ensure clear and concise written information is presented, which complies with Icon policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognise, achieve and establish good stakeholder focused outcomes on a consistent basis.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and develop good working relationships with clients and colleagues to facilitate optimal business outcomes consistently for all parties.
  • Commitment to expand and develop initiative, self-management, and problem-solving skills and to participate in continuing education programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and coaching to team members.
