We are seeking mid- and senior-level applicants with a strong Physical Science and/or Applied Math background to work in the areas of ocean remote sensing, signal/image processing and detection, computer vision, machine learning, physics-based modeling, data analysis, sensor hardware development, and field test design and support. As a Staff Scientist tasks include development of physics-based software and algorithms for data analysis. Other duties include but are not limited to work on challenging and important work in the areas of sensor design and analysis; phenomenology exploitation; detection, estimation and tracking algorithms; and target classification and identification. This position is based in our Northridge, CA office. This is an exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position. - Qualified candidate will have completed (or be in their final year of) a PhD degree program in physics, mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, C, C++, or similar language
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
- Remote sensing experience in Electro-Optics, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR), LIDAR, or sonar
- Experience with signal/image processing (detection, estimation, and tracking)
- Computer vision, image and data fusion, image classification and automated target recognition
- Physics-based modeling and simulation
- Spectroscopy, data fusion, data analytics, or algorithm development
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning
- Technical direction and/or program management
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
