About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Officer with 0-1 years of relevant experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in financial analysis, good spoken/ written English, and exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel. As a Finance Officer, following will be the roles and responsibilities. Job Responsibilities If someone is going to work closely with different units such as the payments department, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, their role as a Finance Officer would involve specific responsibilities tailored to these areas: Payments Department Collaboration:

  • Assist with the payments department to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Review payment processes and procedures to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements or risk mitigation.
  • Monitor payment transactions to detect any irregularities or discrepancies and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Work closely with the payments team to reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
Bookkeeping:
  • Assist the bookkeeping function to ensure that financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Review journal entries, ledgers, and other accounting records prepared by the bookkeeping team.
  • Conduct periodic audits of financial records to verify their accuracy and integrity, and address any discrepancies or issues identified.
Financial Reporting Management:
  • Assist the financial reporting process, collaborating with the bookkeeping team to compile financial data and prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Analyze financial statements and provide insights to the line manager on key financial metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
Cross-Functional Communication:
  • Serve as a liaison between different units such as payments, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, facilitating communication and collaboration on financial matters.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss financial performance, issues, and initiatives that impact multiple departments.
  • Provide support to other units as needed, such as assisting with budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis.
Process Improvement and Integration:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency across departments involved in financial operations.
  • Implement integrated systems or software solutions to automate repetitive tasks, enhance data accuracy, and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from different units to develop and implement standardized procedures for financial transactions, reporting, and reconciliation.
By working closely with units like payments, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, this individual would play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the organization's financial operations and reporting processes. Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's/Masters degree in Finance & Accounting/ ACCA Affiliate.
  • 0-1 years of experience as a Finance Officer or in a similar finance role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential (including complex formulas, data manipulation, charting, and pivot tables).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to present findings and recommendations clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-driven and proactive.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping software (e.g., Quickbooks, Xero) is preferred.
  • Timings: 2 PM - 11 PM
