Sr Eng/Sr Lead/Staff Engineer - Stability Test

Company: Qualcomm India Private Limited Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Test Engineering General Summary: In the role of Senior System Test Engineer, the candidate will test and modify general system-level software/hardware test cases, specialized test tools, and testing hardware for Automotive Solutions. The candidate should be able to interpret wireless specifications and standards, design the test plan, create user test scenarios, and automate using Python/Perl scripts. The candidate will document system-level defects, use a bug tracking system for reporting, and work with developers to support and validate fixes. They should be capable of creating/modifying test plans as per system functionality to find all system stability issues. The engineer should quickly adapt to Android Phone Testing, QNX OS, or Windows Mobile Compute testing, or any new operating system/hardware module that comes during test execution. System testing will encompass different modules comprising Modem, WLAN/BT, and Multimedia. Educational Qualification:

• B.E/B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or Embedded Systems.
• M.E/M.Tech in Electronics, Communication Engineering, DSP, Computer Science, or Embedded Systems.

Experience:

• 4 - 12 years of experience in Mobile Device Testing, Embedded Systems, Handheld Devices, Windows Compute Device testing, Android Device Testing, Mobile Communications tests, WLAN/BT, and Kernel Programming.

Technical Skill Set:

• Good command of Operating systems – Android/Linux/Windows/CHROME.
• Good knowledge of Communication Protocols – 2G/3G/LTE/5G Modem specification.
• Good knowledge of WLAN/BT Specifications and Protocol implementation.
• Knowledge of Multimedia Specifications related to Audio/Video Codecs.
• Exposure to Camera/Camcorder Testing.
• Understanding of Linux Kernel Internals and Embedded Systems Programming.
• Understanding/Exposure to Embedded Systems Design.
• Use of KDB/JTAG debugging tools.
• Python/Perl Scripting.
• Exposure to Bug Tracking tools like JIRA and Change Requests.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 6+ years of Software Test Engineering or related work experience. OR • Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 5+ years of Software Test Engineering or related work experience. OR • PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 4+ years of Software Test Engineering or related work experience. • 2+ years of work experience with Software Test or System Test, developing and automating test plans, and/or tools (e.g., Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools).
