Job Description: Designation : Sr Engineer – FEA Reporting to : Simulation COE - Lead Location : Bangalore, Full Time Qualification : Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in either Mechanical / Automobile or Aerospace Experience : 5 – 6 Yrs Position Overview: Marmon Global Innovation Center is seeking outstanding engineer in FEA Analysis (preferably in Rail and Heavy-duty transport) He / She should have strong FEA modeling skills in structural analysis & is experienced to use simulation tools to solve complex engineering problems & prove the hypotheses. Corelate the actual application conditions into simulation models. Uses best practices & knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. Works independently & able to guide others. Key Responsibilities / Functions:
- Works on identifying product design & development problems where FEA analysis can assist & accelerate development of products in UTLX portfolio.
- Develop FE models to analyze the problems related to structural domain by thoroughly translating application conditions.
- Proactively validate / correlate results with real world data & makes model improvements as deemed necessary
- Interpret analysis results with respect to results obtained by lab testing procedures, converting these results into practical design suggestions
- Generates high quality engineering test reports & presents CAE results/conclusions to the design engineering community
- Support development of CAE methods related to new technologies
- Should be able to mentor junior engineers & help them improve their capabilities
- Strong fundamentals of Structural mechanics
- Must have hands on experience in FEA modelling of industrial components, subsystems & systems with in-depth knowledge in domains like Linear, Nonlinear & Dynamic analysis
- Strong understanding of Material, Geometry & Contact nonlinearity
- Experienced in Damage Tolerance Analysis, Fatigue, Impact analyses
- Expert user of commercially available FEA analysis tool ANSYS (Workbench & Classic) and LS Dyna
- Knowledge of SolidWorks / space claim is a must.
- Experience of Hypermesh/Ansa is an advantage
- Experience in analytical calculations of bolted & welded connections is a must
- Prior experience or comprehensive knowledge of experimental characterization techniques is preferred.
- Knowledge on Rail and Locomotive Standards
- Knowledge on AAR standards
