Senior Manager, Sustainability

Environment & Sustainability Consulting (Consulting & Strategy) Michael Page Governance has partnered with a publicly listed company in Kuala Lumpur who are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Manager to lead the Sustainability function. Our client is a publicly listed company in the Construction and Property Development sector in Malaysia.

Description

1. Ensuring all department deliverables are being carried out efficiently and effectively in order to meet the department's KPIs and to ensure the smooth running of the department.
2. Assist the line managers in the design, development, and effective implementation of the Group's overall corporate sustainability framework and strategies.
3. Responsible for planning and executing the Group's sustainability communication efforts, ensuring continuous engagement with both internal and external stakeholders to convey our sustainability focus and ambitions.
4. Support the Group Sustainability team for the compilation of sustainability data across the Group, ensuring data integrity at all times, and maintaining effective relationships with all data providers.
5. Assist the Management in keeping abreast with the ongoing development of ESG matters related to the Group's core businesses, including but not limited to the evolving trends, national ESG-themed policies/guidelines, and reporting guidelines.
6. Support the Management in identifying potential opportunities for positive social and environmental impacts, foster collaborative initiatives with relevant external stakeholders to address emerging ESG issues.
7. Assist the line manager with departmental administrative tasks and processes, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of all administrative functions, maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.

Profile

To be considered for this opportunity you will have at least 5 years experience within a Sustainability or ESG function in-house, ideally for a publicly listed company. Previous experience leading small - medium sized teams will be highly regarded. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role. Previous experience managing the external communications for sustainability/ESG related matters will also be highly regarded.
