Senior civil estimator

* Large contractor, without the corporate attitude * Flexible on Location - North Island based - potential for remote * High profile Civil Engineering projects Lynx Recruitment are partnered with a well known civil engineering contractor who have a unique opportunity of joining the team as a Senior Estimator * The role can be based anywhere on the north Island, with a preference for Auckland / Northland * This role is a new role, due to company growth The ideal candidate: * Extensive experience in infrastructure projects (8+ years) * Proven track record of delivering accurate and competitive estimates * Ensure continued excellence in every project undertaken * Keen eye for opportunities - to create unique solutions where others might see challenges. * Self-driven, with critical thinking attributes that support us in meeting our customers' needs. Key Responsibilities will include: * Develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for complex infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. * Analyse project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to create detailed and reliable estimates. * Expert use of MS Project and Candy software to develop and manage project schedules and estimates, optimizing efficiency and accuracy. * Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure the best value and quality. * Create and maintain cooperative relationships that promote effective teamwork and collaboration among all stakeholders. * Identify risks, opportunities, and innovative methodologies to develop unique solutions that drive tender success. Experience: * 8+ years hands on Estimating for Civil and Infrastructure projects * Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline. * Highly computer literate with advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, and CCS or similar estimating software. * Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise information exchange. * Extensive knowledge and well-established connections within the civil construction industry Full working rights in NZ required Contact: mark@lynx.co.nz or 021 795 153
